What is it?
Citrustem® is a biotechnology-derived active developed by Provital from an orange cell culture. The cosmetic product uses a preparation of the plant culture: it does not contain cells capable of becoming human cells and is not a medical regenerative treatment. The supplier's technical documentation positions it in facial-care formulas focused on firmness, elasticity and visible skin quality.

Its role in a formula
At Y5 it is combined with humectants, antioxidants or peptides as part of a broader cosmetic strategy. The aim is to support a more even, supple and cared-for appearance rather than alter deeper structures on its own. Concentration, stability, delivery system and the rest of the formula determine both the experience and the performance of the finished product.

Compatibility and tolerance
It has no broad usage conflict with hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, niacinamide or peptides. As with other extracts and complex actives, tolerance must be assessed for the finished product, including its preservatives, fragrance and delivery system. If skin is sensitive or the routine already contains intensive formulas, introduce only one new product at a time.

How do I use it?
Follow the frequency given for the specific formula, usually after cleansing and before a richer moisturiser. It needs neither a special technique nor a large amount to play its role within the product. Observe comfort, texture and appearance over several weeks rather than looking for an immediate effect. In the morning, always finish with sun protection.
