Vitamin C in the morning: antioxidants with purpose
Where vitamin C fits into a morning routine and how to combine it with hydration and sun protection without exaggerated promises.

Demonstration article created to evaluate the design and experience of the new Y5 journal.
Context matters
Vitamin C refers to several cosmetic forms with different stability, texture and tolerance profiles. Discussing it only as a percentage leaves out an important part of formulation: the vehicle, packaging, pH and combination with other ingredients.
In a morning routine, an antioxidant may complement —never replace— sunscreen and sensible sun-protection habits.
How to integrate it
- Apply to clean skin following the amount recommended for the formula.
- Follow with moisturiser if the skin needs additional comfort.
- Finish with appropriate sunscreen and reapply according to exposure.
- Introduce the formula gradually when skin is sensitive.
A compatible routine
There is no need to combine every active in one application. If a routine already includes exfoliants or intensive ingredients, separating their use can make skin responses easier to observe and improve comfort.
The most useful signal
A pleasant texture and realistic frequency are often more valuable than a theoretically perfect routine that cannot be maintained. Cosmetic precision also means knowing when to stop.
Antioxidants add context to a routine; sun protection remains the central morning step.
